Questions about the NIAID Remdesivir Study.

 

     If a drug (Remdesivir), any drug, is compared against placebo (nothing) in 1063 patients (noting the study design was for 800 patients) admitted to hospital, shows no statistical difference in survival compared with the placebo - and there is no actual measurement of changes occurring in the lungs where the coronavirus has invaded the body as there is with NCT04349410 - what exactly is the basis for stating “What it has proven is that a drug can block this virus,” Fauci said. “This will be the standard of care.” ???

 

     There was no measurement of changes in tissue resulting from treatment showing interference or blockage of viral replication, and the now standard of care is statistically equal to no care?!

 

     There also doesn't appear to be any difference in the CoVid-19 viral load, when those treated with Remdesivir are compared with people who received NO treatment - something I would expect if the virus is actually being inhibited by Remdesivir. How does this lead to a conclusion that Remdesivir works for CoVid-19?
